5 on Friday!

Oh my God y'all it is Friday! I know that it has only been the first week of starting back to work but it being Friday is AWESOME! That means....I get to sleep in tomorrow! Whoo hoo! Anyway, I'm linking up to share my 5 on Friday.

Lets get started!

Sometimes, I get a wild hair and get my mind set on something then I want it. So, I decided that I wanted a fish for my office. I actually thought about this last year but decided against it. Now, I have a new friend named Shark Bait Blazer. I picked him because our school colors are blue and green. My cat Sammy seems to be fascinated by his new blue friend. He will be transferring to work this week.

We have started to make over our dining room. It has missing pizazz. So we knocked down the popcorn ceiling and re-textured it. Then hubby tore off the chair rail. We debated on putting up those textured 3D tiles but realized it would cost us $1300 for one wall! Ugh no thanks! We are going to try wall paper. Dun dun dun dun....lol. I have had the sample on my wall for weeks and could not decide. One day I took a picture with my phone and realized I like the way it looked. Here is our sample...

Ok....I do not take good selfies. It is awkward. I am never sure how to stand or where to look and taking one in a mirror can be tricky. I wanted share my first day of back to work outfit. The cardigan, polka dot shirt and pants are from the LOFT. My belt is a reversible Fossil leather belt. My shoes are a soft black leather Sperry's. Love them! They are so comfy.

You know how you will look for something in a purse or in your pockets and find something wonderful? Well the other night I opened one of my make up pouches that I used to keep in my purse and found my Clinique Chubby Stick! I love this thing! It applies the perfect amount of lipstick color to my lips. I think it was just as close to finding $20 in one of my pants pockets. The color I have is a Whole Lot of Honey. Though it is a dark color, it does not go on dark. Just a perfect natural pigment. Here are some other colors...

Tonight after work I met with my friend Amy and her boyfriend to celebrate making it through our first week of school/work. Happy hour at Chili's is always a good idea! Cheers!

Until next time Y'all!

Everson Amazing Race - Dillard, GA. Day 1

Okay....lets get back to our adventures around Georgia. After leaving Savannah, we headed towards Dillard, GA. The car ride took a little longer than expected because of all the rain we drove through. However, here are a few randoms that we snapped on the way to Dillard.

Rainbows are always exciting.

We stopped for happy meals so we could get minions. They saved us from getting a ticket. :)

We stayed at one of the chalets on the property of the Dillard House. Our chalet was located in a heavy wooded area on the side of a mountain. Though I would have loved to take a picture of our little place, it was always raining by the time we got back from our excursions. Here are a few pictures of the inside.

This was a great place for the two nights we stayed. It even had a hot tub which was nice for when we were finished with white water rafting. You really use those muscles! The first night, we went down to the petting zoo that was on the Dillard House property.

Next up...Dillard, GA. day 2!

5 on Friday!

I'm not really sure about this week...I think all my days just ran together! It was back to work for me this week. I pretty much put in 10 hour days everyday this week. So, to say I'm tired is an understatement! Any who, I'm linking up on 5 on Friday that almost turned into Saturday! Better late than never, right?

I LOVE the Loft! It is pretty much my go to store. I could just be a walking billboard add for the Loft. I  get most of my items on sale and I have a Loft rewards card so I get points for my purchases. Then they usually send me a $20 off card in the mail. It's great! Over the summer I bought these super cute shorts. It is really funny because people will stare at them because they cannot quite figure out if the shorts or a skirt until I politely let them know they are indeed shorts. I love them so much I bought them in fuchsia.  They are light weight and can dress up an outfit just a little.

My SNL and I have just fell in love with those cute little minions. I have no clue what they are saying half the time but I find them to be hilarious. So, Monday when I was dragging a little, my SNL text me and said check my Facebook. I looked only to find this hilarious clip.

Seriously....is that not the most hilarious thing ever?!?

My SNL also sent me this funny picture. This was at one of the shops in Helen, GA. We do have a photo bomber in the back and it is kinda blurry but I mustache you a question. Does this make my face look big?

Another good laugh this week was the new Geico commercial. We'll probably use this for a while at work. lol

I love the Unite Beach Day spray for my hair. I mentioned this in a previous post. I bought it when I got my hair done and tried it over the weekend. It gave my hair that beachy wavy curl and even smells beachy. I simply sprayed it evenly on my damp hair then scrunched the hair with my hands. I even twisted a few strands around my fingers to give it more of a curl then I allowed it to air dry. It definitely gave the appearance that I swam in the ocean and then allowed my hair to air dry.

Until next time y'all!

Everson Amazing Race Expedition Part 1

Okay...as promised I wanted to share our road trip to north Georgia. My hubby, myself and my SNL planned this trip about 2 weeks before we decided on a date. We had a few things in mind in what we wanted to do, which included white water rafting and tubing and possibly zip lining.

Our first stop was to stay in Savannah, Georgia. I am originally from Savannah and lived there 19 years before moving to Florida so we stopped to visit family. Before we arrived in Savannah, we stopped in Darien, Ga. to eat lunch at one of our favorite restaurants. It's about 5 minutes off the I-95 and well worth it. They are known for their seafood so anything seafood is highly recommended and I would recommend the fried zucchini fries. There are two parts to the restaurant. On the right is the Oyster Bar and on the left is Skipper's Fish Camp. Skipper's is our favorite. It is right on the river where the shrimp boats are docked. They also have an outdoor deck where you can play cornhole or just lounge and relax.

We arrived in Savannah around dinner time due to stopping for stretch break in Jaxsonville, lunch, and it raining off and on. My aunt was nice enough to cook us a nice Italian dinner with some killer fresh garlic bread. The next day we went to River Street and had lunch at Spanky's before walking through many shops. We had to stop at River Street Sweets so hubby could get him some salt water taffy and I found my sign that defines the south in one of the shops here. He hubby loves his salt water taffy. It was packed with tourist so I did not get many pictures but I did snap these.

Most of the people were in shops or had boarded the tour buses when I took this photo. Next stop...Dillard, Ga.

5 on Friday!

Hey Y'all!

I cannot believe a lot of things this week: 1) it's already Friday! 2) July flew by! 3) it's back to school time. It also reached 100 degrees today in Florida and my pores felt it. Tomorrow may be a pool day. I know I promised about posting all the cool things we did on our vacation road trip but I have been a slacker in the blogging field this week. I will do my best to post it tomorrow.

Any who, it is time for me to share my 5 on Friday. I'm linking up with Darci, Natasha & Christina. If you would like to link up just head over to Darci's blog for the link. Then share your favorite 5 things you would like to share this week.

{one}

Well, for me fall has started. It's August already and it is time to head back to school. When I think fall I think college football. While I was in north Georgia I bought me a Georgia Bulldogs t-shirt and tumbler. I love my new shirt. Considering all of my other ones are warn out, I was in need of a new one. This shirt sums it up for me. :)

{two}

I started my first fall craft. I wanted a new a wreath for our front door and I saw a few on Pintrest I liked and new I could copy with no problem. I purchased everything from Michael's. The wreath was the highest priced but I had a coupon for 40% off my entire purchase so I was not too worried. For my letter, I spray painted it with orange glitter spray then sealed it with a clear sealer. To the left is my Pintrest find and to the right is my creation.

Speaking of crafts I am getting a Hobby Lobby less than 5 minutes from my house. Whoop Whoop! I am super excited about this because it is a Michael's and a JoAnn fabrics all in one! Then across the street we are getting a fresh market! I love it!

*sorry had to take my picture at night. :/

{three}

I had me time by getting my back to school hairs cut & highlighted of course. There is just something about that time you get to yourself while getting your hair done or getting a pedicure. While I was there I got this beach spray that is supposed to give you that beach curl. I haven't tried it yet but I plan on using it this weekend. I'll keep you posted. I had the look on the left but went for the look on the right. Not much difference just went shorter in the back. Pretty satisfied so far. :)

{four}

While it is tax free weekend I decided to treat myself to a new pair of running shoes. I have a few pairs but can never find that pair is light enough to run in. My one pair is great for just walking even though I had a company measure, look at my walk and run then pick the shoe best for me. Then I have another pair that I liked to run in but they were too wide at the toes so I would almost trip over them. So, when I saw the Nike flex 2013, I immediately liked them. They are light, bend easily, have enough cushion, support my ankles and lastly the were on SALE! Winning!

Monday it is back to the working grind. I'm a little nervous since I have been promoted to a new position and over seeing 560 students but I am confident that I will hold my own. I also will be coaching girls volleyball again this year so my plate is going to be a little loaded but as Nike says, "Just do it!" I am excited about seeing the kids. It is my favorite part of the job and what I love.
