5 on Friday Fall Edition

Hey Y'all it's FALL! At least a few days into fall. Fall is one of my favorite times of the year but Christmas time is my most favorite. The thing I like about fall is...if we are lucky in Florida then it gets cooler, there is football, s'mores, a fire in the fire pit or fireplace, more 5ks, the cutest clothes and I can finally wear my BOOTS! I'm definitely a jeans and t-shirt kinda girl so any chance I can get to wear my jeans or my boots, then I'm taking it! I'm linking up to share some of my favorite fall things....

{one}

Cute fall outfits with boots.

Campfire s'mores

Yellow mums are my favorite annual fall flower. They are great at giving your front porch a little color.

Homemade crockpot chili. Uh...yes...please!

5 of Friday

Hey ya'll, It's Saturday!! Whoop whoop! What a week! Wednesday was crazy with a whole bunch of drama over my girls volleyball jerseys. It ended on a good note so I cannot complain too bad. Yes, I'm late posting this but I was having fun last night so now I'm linking up to do my five on Friday.

{one}

Loving the new IOS 7 update for iPhone/iPad. I'm loving the new iPhone 5s too. My update is not until thanksgiving so I think I can make it until then. It looks so stylish and flashy. oh la la!

{two}

Despite my girls not getting their game day jerseys, the won their first game! They played so well and I am so happy for them.

{three}

You know how you are standing in line in the grocery store and browse all the junk and magazines? Well, I came across this little magazine. I have never seen it before but that doesn't mean it hasn't been around. Taste of the South...uh, yes...I love southern food. I picked it up and flipped through the pages and new it needed more investigation.

Who wouldn't want campfire S'mores?

{four}

Sunday I am checking off a Bucket List item. YES! I will be participating in....

I'm super excited about this. They happiest run on the planet.
I hope I get nice and chalky and colored. :)

We met up with my SNL last night and a few of her friends for dinner. We met at Wild Side BBQ and I got the sliders. Hubby and his sis got the chicken which looked really good. It was actually cool enough for us to sit outside and not sweat! They had live music so it was really nice to just relax, eat and be happy.

Bye y'all!

5 on Friday!

uhhh.....Happy Friday the 13th?!?! Well, I'm not a superstitious type of person but so far my day has been uneventful! I like to keep it that way! Anyway, I'm here to link up on my favorite things this week. Let's get this started....

{one}

I took this picture last year. I really like it. I feel like it captures the moment. I was at a 9/11 memorial event that included a candlelight visual. Orlando Fire Fighter Pipes and Drums were playing at the event so I took pictures as they were tuning up. A homeless man was walking by and stopped briefly to watch them and this is what I captured.

{two}

It seems I am in this...I love leopard stage of my life. I bought these two items from LOFT and I really like them. I feel like I need to find something orange to pair them with but either way I'm in love. You can find the sleeveless top here and the dress here.

{three}

My favorite song of the week is Roar by Katy Perry. I feel like I should be kick boxing to this song or busting out with some Rocky moves. I love it and the video is pretty interesting  amazing.
 Even Katy is in touch with her leopard side.

{four}

I'm already thinking of my next hair cut. It's not even time but why not be prepared?

{five}

It's that time y'all! Well...almost time! This weekend we will be celebrating 1/2 way to St. Patrick's Day! Who doesn't love that? It's going to be a good time with bag pipes, irish dancers, and beer.

9/11

Hey y'all.

I wanted to stop in and write a short post about 9/11. I remember exactly where I was on the day our country was attacked. I am sure most of us do unless you happen to be in high school or younger. It is really a strange concept to grasp that children do not understand fully what our country went through during that time. They were simply too young to understand.

I do not know if it is the fact that I was old enough to understand, seeing my dad leave to be one of the first ones to fight in the front lines of Iraq, or marrying a firefighter...maybe it's a combination...but it hits home.

Here is a video that was shared with our 6th graders today.

We will never forget!

5 on Friday!

This week has been simply.....AWESOME! I had Monday off for Labor day and Thursday off for Rosh Hashanah. I'm not Jewish but I guess the county I work for must have a lot of people who are Jewish. We have had that holiday off for a few years now. No complaints here but Happy Rosh Hashanah to any of my Jewish blogger friends.

I am linking up with the ladies to share my favorite things this week. It's pretty simple, just hop on over to Darci's blog and snag the link. Then share your favorite five things this week.

Ok....so the DAWGS loss their game against Clemson. However, after many mistakes and a few good players were out, they put up a fight. Most of the other teams played some kind of little league team that nobody really knows when Georgia played one of the best teams in the ACC on the East coast. Hopefully, they get their paws together and work it all out for this weekend. GO DAWGS!

{two}

It was beach day until the DAWGS played this weekend. We were so happy that the second paddle board arrived this past week. Mom bought us kids one from Costco. The first one arrived damaged so we sent it back for a new one. Unfortunately, it was choppy this weekend so paddling became a hassle but surfing the waves was fun. Here is a picture I snapped of my dad going out to try paddle boarding the first time.

That night there was a very competitive game of Scrabble. Nana's quote of the night, "you dirty rat! I was going to take that spot!" No feelings were seriously hurt during this game. :)

{three}

Last week hubby had to do some repairs to the house. He went to replace some rotten wood around our master bath window. However, when he opened the wall there was more water damage than he expected. Welcome to being a home owner! Luckily, I married a handy man and by the time I returned home the next day he had our back wall looking very professional. Brownie Points!

{four}

I went to Bath and Body Works and stocked up on their foam hand soap. They had their deals going so I got their 4 for $15 foam soap, I love s'more hand sanitizer, & a mason jar candle. Who doesn't love a mason jar candle? Flavors from left to right: I love s'mores, Pumpkin Cupcake, Vanilla Buttercream, Pumpkin Caramel Latte, Sugar Maple, & Pumpkin Pecan Waffles. All smell delicious!

{five}

I updated my couch pillow. Who knew something so simple could make a difference. I don't know if it is because fall is approaching but red has become my new favorite color.

Remember when I posted about our dining room? I have a reveal coming soon.

Atlanta,GA

Our last stop on our family trip was Atlanta, GA. The last time I was in Atlanta...I was 16 and going to see a Mariah Carey concert. Too bad it was the beginning of her mental health melt down or whatever she was having. Anyway, a lot has changed. Maybe it was because of the area we stayed in but I feel it has changed for the good. It seemed cleaner. The only downfall is still the traffic.

We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Atlanta next to the Coke Cola Factory and the Georgia Aquarium. The hotel was really nice and clean. I would definitely stay there again. We decided to go to Imagination Nights at the aquarium at the discounted price of $19 per adult. There was not a lot of people so it was easy to take pictures without a big crowd. I was excited because I got to try out different settings on my new camera. Definitely shooting pictures with a blue background was tricky. I'll have to work on that.

In the mean time here are a few pictures. I tried to edit them but Google is not letting me. Any suggestions for photo editing programs?

Beautiful jellyfish

From the Great Barrier Reef tank. Here are some friends from Nemo.

Dragon Seahorse

I love his teeth. I think he was a diva and liked getting his picture taken.

Dangerous fish taking over the east coast of our country. The Lion fish.

I have an obsession with whale sharks. I LOVE them! The aquarium had 4!

Large sting ray with a manta ray in the background.

Black Tip shark

This grouper was HUGE!

Bottle nose dolphin

Sea Otter

After the aquarium we went to a local pizza place called Max's Coal Oven Pizzeria. It was pretty good.  After we were finished eating, I snapped this picture on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles that was painted on the back wall of the restaurant.

The next morning we made the long drive back to Orlando. That was our trip across good ole North Georgia.
